Safe Boating Week Kickoff Event
Location: Jack Day Environmental
Education Center, located at
the Fox River boat launch ramp at the mouth of the Fox River in Green
Bay. Directions are available here.

Opening
Ceremony
Keynote Speaker- Green Bay
Mayor Jim Schmitt.
There will be representatives from the Wisconsin DNR, Brown Co.
Sheriffs Department,
G.B. Police -Water Safety Patrol, Green Bay Power Squadron, United
States Coast Guard, and the United States Coast Guard Auxiliary. The
Mayor will issue the National Safe Boating Week Proclamation with a
Coast Guard Helicopter fly-over at the
end.
Events
- Water
Safety booths with demonstrations by the U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary,
Center For Childhood Safety, U.S. Power Squadron, and Wisconsin DNR.
- The U.S. Coast Guard
Auxiliary will have COASTIE
the
robotic cutter!
- Safety related coloring
books at the Coast Guard Auxiliary
booth.
- Public viewing of the
U.S. Coast Guard Helicopter
- Display of Water Safety
Patrol Boats.
- Live Safety
Demonstrations: Proper use of marine safety
flares by U.S. Power Squadron (approx. 12:00 noon)
- U.S. Coast Guard Helicopter water rescue
demonstration at 2
PM (weather permiting)
- U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary Vessel
Safety Checks- courtesy
boat inspections available during the event
